This site will walk you through the vast history of the Jeep Cherokee.
There are three different models of the Jeep Cherokee:

  • FSJ Cherokee
    (1974-1983)
  • XJ Jeep Cherokee
    (1984-2001)
  • KL Jeep Cherokee
    (2014-present).
Full-Size Jeep Cherokee

1974-1983

This new, youthful Jeep vehicle was "something new for the market." Despite being an updated version of the Jeep Wagoneer. It was in a new vehicle market all on it's own, not taking away or losing sales to it's brother, the Jeep Wagoneer.

XJ Jeep Cherokee

1984-2001

After having tremendous success in the 70's, the FSJ didn't fair too well in the early 80's and the economic recession. Jeep was trying to answer the fuel consumption problem with this brand new type of vehicle. This small compact mid-size SUV was the first of it's kind and it was also the only compact mid-size SUV that offered 4-Doors. This XJ Cherokee would prove to be one of the greatest inventions that Jeep ever made.

KL Jeep Cherokee

2014-present

This is the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee KL. Not many people like this vehicle, considering it has a famous name but looks and drives nothing like it's precursor race. Although this new KL Cherokee is nothing like the the classics, it still had a huge impact on the market and has won many awards.

About Us

I have grown up all around Jeeps, specifically Cherokees. I have always wanted to learn everything I could about the Jeep brand. The best way to document all the information about Jeeps, and share it with the world, was to build a website. I plan to have a web site for each Jeep model someday, starting with the famous Cherokees.
